Effective Thursday, October 23rd, JDCU launched a new & improved Bill Pay that offers Bill Presentment (e-bills), email alerts, reporting, multiple funding accounts and more!
Bill Pay will continue to offer you the convenience of paying all of your bills from one simple-to-use site. Plus, it will provide you with additional functionality including the ability to receive, view and manage your bills electronically, all in one location.
JDCU’s New Bill Pay will Allow You To
- Receive your bills electronically through your JDCU Bill Pay (also known as Bill Presentment or ebills).
- Set up various email alert scenarios such as: bill arrival; due dates; upcoming payments. There are also a variety of automatic email alerts; for example, stop payment and insufficient funds.
- Add multiple checking accounts from which you can pay your bills.
- Run payment reports and create custom reports.
- Create categories for your payees by type of service (credit card, auto payment, etc.). You will then have the ability to search by category when pulling an activity report.
- Order a year-end CD-ROM of your bills and payment history (a nominal fee will be assessed).
- Set a start date for recurring payments and modify existing payments.
- View all pending payments on the Payment Overview Screen and allow you to sort by any column displayed.

Below are descriptions of new JDCU Online Banking features or enhancements coming up or added recently.
Internet Browser Compatibility Test, Effective Feb 6, 08: Two new links have been added to the Online Banking Login prompt located on JDCU.com. By clicking on the "Test your browser" link, a test will automatically be run to determine if your current computer system and browser configuration meets our Online Banking preferred system requirements. It will also provide instructions / help if they do not meet the recommended settings. The "Having trouble testing" link will provide troubleshooting tips if you are having difficulty with the browser test.
This allows us to alert you if your computer system configuration does not meet preferred system requirements and provides instructions on how to make the changes needed to get the best experience with our Online Banking service.

E-Mail Address Notification, Effective Jan 1, 2008: This security enhancement generates an e-mail notification to you when your Online Banking and/or Bill Payment e-mail address has been changed. The email notification will be sent to both your OLD email address and your NEW email address.
Types of e-mail changes that will generate a notification
- If you add, change or remove your e-mail address, an e-mail notifying them of this change will be sent to their new e-mail address.
- If we have "flagged" your account as a "bad e-mail address" because we have received a return notification in instances such as an undeliverable Online Statement.
Enhanced Login Security (ELS) Indicator, Effective Jan 1, 2008: This new feature will display a message next to the "Last Login" text, on the ELS Options page, and on the Account Summary page that indicates your ELS status during each Online Banking session. The message will display the status of your Online Banking and computer (enrolled in ELS /not enrolled in ELS). Help links will also be displayed to assist you with the indicator message definition.

ENHANCED LOGIN SECURITY Effective Sept 16, 2006: Enhanced Login Security (ELS) is a new security enhancement that is free, easy, and most importantly, gives you extra protection from fraud and identity theft when you bank online.
ELS identifies you as the true "owner" of your accounts. Now, not only will your password be recognized, your computer will be recognized as well. If we don't recognize your computer - you've logged in from a public computer or one you haven't used before you will be prompted to answer "challenge questions" as an additional line of defense against unauthorized access to your accounts. You can enroll as many computers and browsers as you wish. We recommend enrolling the computers that you use most frequently to access JDCU Online Banking.
Enroll a Computer/Browser
Step 1: Login to Online Banking

Select User Options

Select Enhanced Login Security
Step 2: On the Enhanced Login Security Screen, leave the first (default) radio button selected

click Submit.
Step 3: In the popup window that appears, click OK.
Step 4: A success screen displays.
Tips - Enroll a Computer
- You can enroll as many computers and browsers as you wish. We recommend enrolling the computers and browsers that you use most frequently to access JDCU Online Banking.
- Once a computer/browser is enrolled, you will see nothing different at future logins to Online Banking from that computer using that browser.
- Once enrolled, if you attempt to access Online Banking from a computer or browser that you have not enrolled, you will be asked to answer your Challenge Questions that you had previously selected.
SCHEDULED & RECURRING TRANSFERS (SRT’s): Effective May 8, 2006 SRT’s allow you to create, edit and delete scheduled transfers, one-time or recurring, to and from all eligible JDCU checking, savings, money market & loan accounts.
ALERTS: Effective May 8, 2006 Alerts allow you to set criteria for email messages to be sent alerting you of balance levels, cleared checks, maturity dates, loan payment due dates, etc. The following alerts can be created:
- Balance Notifications
- CD and IRA Notifications
- Check Clearing Notifications
- Payment Due Notifications
- Payment Past Due Notifications
- Periodic Balance Notifications
- Personal Reminder Notifications (e.g. birthdays, anniversaries, etc.)
- Scheduled Recurring Transfers Concluded Notifications
HISTORY SEARCH: Effective May 8, 2006 The History Search feature will allow you to locate a specific transaction or group of transactions by selecting a date or date range and then choosing one of the following options: single check; check range; dollar amount or dollar amount range.
ALTERNATE USER ID (ALT ID): Effective January 2, 2006
This is an added level of security that allows Online Banking users the option of creating an Alternate User ID to replace their Account # as their Online Banking login ID. This feature can be accessed at anytime by logging into Online Banking and selecting the ‘User Options’ icon from the top menu.
ACCOUNT NICKNAMES: Effective January 2, 2006
This allows Online Banking users the ability to give their accounts custom descriptions or nicknames. This feature can be accessed anytime by logging into Online Banking and selecting the ‘User Options’ icon from the top menu.
PASSWORD REQUIREMENTS: Effective January 9, 2006
This is an added level of security that, on or after January 9, 2006, will require all Online Banking users to create a password that must consist of letters and numbers (alpha-numeric) and contain a minimum of 7 characters.
BILL PAYMENT ENHANCEMENT: FRAUD MITIGATION CHANGE (Effective August 21, 2005)
To help reduce fraudulent payments and payments made to blocked entities, Bill Payment users will no longer be able to add or make payments to a payee with the name of "Cash". Any payments made to a payee with the name of "Cash" will be canceled.
If a user makes a payment to a payee with the name of "Cash," the payment will be rejected and an e-mail notification will be sent to the e-mail address we have on file.
E-mail Address Request Reminder (Introduced May 10, 2005)
This feature periodically prompts members to provide their most current email address. Members will see the following message: "Please take a moment to verify or update your email address for your account with JDCU. If your email address has not changed, please click "submit". In our efforts to maintain the most current email list of our members, we will periodically ask you to verify your email address. Thank you for your time. ". You will then be prompted with the following three options:
- "Opt-Out" by selecting "I do not have an E-mail address or I do not wish to receive E-mail messages".
- Enter their current E-Mail address
- Select "Do not display this reminder to me again
Printer Friendly Pages (Introduced March 11, 2005)
This feature provides members with a Printer Friendly Button within the Transaction Results Page. It will provide you with the capability to print, graphics-free, all of the pertinent data once your Transfer is complete.
New Stock Quotes Vendor, CBS MarketWatch (Introduced February 4, 2005)
Stock Quotes allows members the ability to search, track, add, edit and delete stock/funds from within Online Banking.
The CBS MarketWatch feature allows you to:
- Add Portfolio Accounts - Group stocks and funds into sub accounts you create. This enables you to group your investments by broker or other discerning characteristics.
- Conduct New Transactions - Record the buying, selling, etc. of stocks and funds into the accounts you create.
- Customize Your Stocks - Customize your view of accounts and stocks.'
- Export Stock Data - Export data from the stock quotes page into a spreadsheet format.
- Print Stock Data - Print a copy of your Stock Quotes data.
